Welcome to our NC Demos blog hop for July! This month the ‘theme’ was to highlight our favorite  accessory/embellishment from Stampin’ Up!

I had to really think about this because I LOVE all the beautiful Designer Series Paper.  I can barely make a card anymore without adding some texture with our fabulous matching ribbons and twines.  But the think I don’t think I can live without is our ‘bling’.

Now I am ‘cheating’ a bit when I say my favorite is ‘bling’, because I am including several different things in my bling category.  😉

I decided I wanted to make some birthday cards, a LOT of birthday cards. Why not?  We should all send MORE cards, right?

Marquee Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set Item #141727 Price: $21.00

I started with a new set in the big catalog this year called Marquee Messages.

What a fun set!

And talk about a set that is made to be blinged!

Kinda like a Vegas sign or a fun art deco sign from the 60’s, gotta have some sparkle on something like this.

first partsOne other thing that kinda jumps out at you with this stamp is that it would be east to cut the arrow from different cardstock and pop it up.

YES, I actually cut something myself without a punch or a thinlit.  And it wasn’t that bad.  Straight lines I can do.  lol

I also really like that there are several different uses for this stamp set and YES, I will be using it again and again.

OK, I am stamped and cut out and layered.

Obviously the dots on the arrow and screaming BLING ME!

Calm down, I hear you little marquee arrow, so time to bring on the bling.

One really obvious way to add bling is to put our basic rhinestones on all the dots.  Yes, this looks really great!  That is the rhinestones on the card on the left.down to 2 levels

However, I want to make a bunch of these.  Stampin’ Up! has LOTS of ways to add bling to my creations.

Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details Item #127845 Price: $2.50

The card on the right looks really similar and the dots of bling are added with Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details.

And you know what, it was really easy and quick to do!

Then I was adding MORE sparkle with one of my other favorite items, the Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.  The clear is awesome, it goes over any color and just adds sparkle and shine.

Since I had used all the new In-Colors on these cards, it made sense to layer them on the DSP from the In-Colors Stack.  The design with the dots was just so fun and playful, perfect for this card.

So here is my finished pile of birthday cheer! pile of cardsDoesn’t this look festive to you?  I am sending these cards to my friends that handle the birthday card program for our NC Demos Facebook Group.  So if you are in our group, you may see a card like this soon.  😉
