Hi everyone!  Greetings from Raleigh, NC, as my friend and downline, Shavon, and I gather with approx. 40 other Stampin’ Up! demonstrator friends from around the state.  We call these our Quarterly meetings and for the most part, they really do happen quarterly… hosted by teams around the state during the year.

These are a day and a half of wonderful creative escape for the attendees… this one hosted by the Durham/Raleigh area group.  We started tonight with our ‘shoebox swap’ night and I wanted to share mine with you guys here.

Not sure what a ‘shoebox swap’ is?  Well, it is a real shoebox of creative fun!

We all create a project, cut all the pieces and make project kits, put all the inks, stamps, ribbon, etc needed to complete the project along with the cut paper ‘kits’ into a literal shoebox.  Then we take a shoebox, complete the project, put the stuff back in, return that one and grab another.

We craft, gab and visit with demo friends, craft, laugh, eat, gab some more, craft some more… you get the idea!

Merry Patterns – Additional Host Promotion thru Oct 31st

So I wanted to use the new stamp set I showed you guys the other day, the promotional additional host gift available for orders of $300 or more during Sept and Oct only.

When I say additional, it means you get this after you have already gotten your normal host gifts.

Sweet!  Gotta love extra stuff for FREE!

The more I play with this two-step stamping set, the more I like it, too.

SOooooo easy to make cute and colorful holiday cards quickly, so that is the project I wanted to share in case some of the other demos here had not gotten their set yet.

I also wanted to give them some options… here is card #1

The base card is a color I love, but don’t reach for often enough, Sahara Sand.

This is just a wonderful neutral color, and the Real Red and Emerald Envy just pops on it, too!

I did also use some Tranquil Tide ink to stamp the ‘Merry Christmas’ and the darker branches.

The shapes are from the ‘Lots of L

Lots Of Labels Framelits Dies 138281 Price: $27.00

abels’ Framelet Die set, and I skipped a size between the two I used so there would be room for the words on the bottom right of the label.

The ribbon I used is the shiny crinkled seam binding in Emerald Envy… gosh I love that ribbon!

Adds shine, vivid color and a touch of texture all at once.  Just what all cards need.

A bit of  Wink of Stella on the flames and 3 little rhinestones in the greenery add some more sparkle.  Each layer is popped up on dimensionals.

One thing that is hard to see in the full card pic is the embossing on the Real Red piece, so here is a close up.

Can you see that embossing on the red piece?  Click on the picture to see it a big bigger.

The subtle texture is a big plus, don’t forget about adding this element to your creations, and it really adds to the rich ‘feel’ of your cards!

I really liked the pattern in this embossing folder for this project, and it shows that embossing folder certainly does not have to be just for faux quilting projects!

Do you remember when I said I wanted to give the folks doing my shoebox some options?

Well, here is card #2.

Obviously the same exact cardstock pieces and colors, just using another of the combos in this fun stamp set.

I really loved how these little cards turned out!

And the TaDa team members with me when I did these, were kinda surprised how fast this card came together. (So was I!)

From the ‘what should I do’ phase, to 2 options of cute cards and all the supplies and kits in one shoebox ready to go in record time!

Our main meeting is tomorrow, Saturday, and I will try to post some pics when I get home to Charlotte. Looking forward to seeing what projects and new ideas the hosting team has in store for us, and of course, the swaps, contests and fellowship will be great!

Here is the supply list for these projects, see what YOU can make and enjoy some creative time SOON!
