Hello and welcome to another NC Demos Blog Hop.  This month we are looking at old techniques, things we have learned over our time as demos that we want to share with you guys.

So with the new Holiday Catalog going live in just a few days, I have been happily crafting with the new products in there and having a ball!

I want to share an easy layout with you guys and some great new Designer Series Paper that has a great new punch that matches it!

Do you see that sheet that is covered with cats?

YEP, that is the new punch, a cute cat punch that just fits the cat on the paper.

I am not really a cat person, I have a herd of toy poodles here at my house, but I got a poodle thinlit in the annual catalog, so I am happy with that.

But a punch that fits the DSP, and printed DSP that will give you 16 black AND 16 orange cats punched from that one sheet, that is a win no matter what your favorite pet is!

So I was making more swap cards (as usual!) and this swap needed 16 cards of each design.  Perfect count… time to use the kitties!

Since I was in this paper pack already, I want to show you that even the holiday packs are not just for the holidays.  And this is certainly true of this new Halloween pack called Spooky Night.

Using another ’16’ count, I used 2 other designs from this pack for my cards.  By cutting each piece of 12″x 12″ paper into 3″x 3″ squares, I got 16 from each sheet!

The black paper makes a great background for the orange kitty, and the new black rhinestones made a perfect little shiny collar bauble for him.  (OOPS, another sneak announcement)

Also on this card, some new black Vintage Crochet Trim that really adds some spooky texture to the card.

The words and the little mouse are from the companion stamp set. Spooky Cat, that actually comes as a bundle with the cat punch.  Savings alert, yay!

Now for a card that is NOT just for Halloween.

I used a different DSP piece for this card, and even though So Saffron is not listed as one of the colors in the DSP package, it goes really well with the Very Vanilla background of the paper and the orange and black, too.

The sentiment is from another great fall stamp set, Painted Harvest.  Oh My, you will NEED this set, too!

There is another fun ribbon showing here that is from the Annual catalog in several colors.

I used the Pumpkin Pie to coordinate with this card, and also add that great texture every card needs.

There are the ‘Kitty’ card details and here they are side by side.  Can you tell they really have the same cutting measurments and DSP usage?

It’s easy to change from portrait to landscape and change the colors of cardstock to change the ‘feel’ of the card.  And the punched kitty adds to any card he is on.

Now on to the other talented demos on this small but mighty blog hop.  See you next month!
