Hello!  And welcome to  another  NC Demos Blog Hop.

This time it just happens to fall on New Years Eve, so you still have a couple of days to grab some retiring goodies from the Holiday catalog ending on Jan 2nd, OR get excited for the NEW stuff coming out and Sale-a-Bration starting on Jan 3rd!

I have another way to use your DSP for you today.  I am ALL about making planned cuts in your beautiful papers.  And you need to cut them to use them.

Yes, you need to use them!  I am still playing with the Sweet Soiree Specialty paper where each sheet has one side with silver metallic print somewhere on it.

The NC Demos have an event coming up in January were we will meet with SU demo friends around the state.

This event moves around and is hosted by different teams or groups of demos each time.

This time, the host team put out a ‘sketch’ challenge for a swap.  Right as I was making some other swaps.  Great timing to try it! (but NO, these will not be my swaps for this event)

I used DSP from the same package, a powder pink mat layer to put the other pieces on for both.

I was also using the Stitched Shapes for my sentiment which is so great to add a bit of interest to that focal point with the ‘stitching’.

For the first card I used the stamp set that goes with this bundle, the Cake Soirée stamp set.

See the line from the ‘h’ in birthday hanging down?

This is supposed to be a stick coming up from a cake stamp.  But it was kinda perfect to ‘hang’ a star from the metallic enamel shapes I love so much.

On the other card, I used one of the embellishment flowers from another new suite, Petal Passion.

These cute little flowers are in a set with the hanging leaf cluster I used in my last blog post here.

They attach easily with a glue dot!  So precious and the flower looks great with this DSP, too!

Here are both cards.  Even though some of the components are close to the same, and of course the layout is exactly the same, you really get a different feel when you change the colors a tad.

And don’t forget the matching ribbons and embellishments!!!  They can make ALL the difference.

Everyone enjoy the hop while you are waiting to ring in 2018… Happy NEW YEAR!!!
