Welcome to this month’s Pinworthy Blog Tour!  The them is Scary Fun and I wanted to do  this month and try a fun new style card I saw at convention this summer… a bendi card.

So since a logical these is Halloween, I got out my new halloween stamp set,  Fall Fest and my new matching Fun Fall framelets.  I can easily make a fun WOW card and have cut out elements with framelits and punches and very little effort.

pic 1First step gather my paper.  Cut a regular card base, a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer and then some strips.  Most have one folding piece from each side, one 2 1/2″ wide and one 1 1/2″ wide and then as long as the card.  I made 2 layers for each side to be different.  I wanted layers.

Score at 1/2″ down one side on each of the strips to make your hinge.

pic 3There needed to be some Jack-o-Lanterns on a Halloween card… so easy to do with these framelets!

I used the leaf images in the Fall Fest set and my new go-to black ink pad, Memento Tuxedo Black, to stack them randomly around the basic gray layer.

The torn tops seemed kinda creepy, why not?

A finger dauber in Whisper White ink embossed with white powder and then sponged around with some Hello Honey ink made a spooky moon.

The end opposite from the hinge needs a little 1/4″ tab cut into it.  Easy to do with the SU! slide cutter… stop and start cutting easily and then trim to make a good ‘tab’.

Now you put redliner on your hinges and put one on the left side of you card and one on the right side.

Practice opening your card and as you add a layer, trim it flush with the card end.

Now decide how far you want your back layer to ‘bendi’.  Mark that point on the background piece with a pencil and make a slit with your cutter for a slot to insert the tab.

It should be a curve.  Bend the other side and decide where you want it to meet the back curve.  Mark that on the back curve and cut that slot, too.

Then attach to the back regular card piece and assemble the ‘bends’ and get ready to decorate!

I made my ghost ans sign ‘float’ by mounting on a narrow strip of window sheet.

Now here is something else to put on every Halloween card!  pic 4 Make your cute little butterfly punches into creepy bats!!

Add the scary eyes from the Freaky Friends set for the PERFECTLY sized touch, cool.  Punch your now evil Butterfly… eek!

Take the scallop circle and clip off the bottom lobes of the butterfly at and angle.pic 5

Then you get this little cutie, no nearly as mean and a bat because they are supposed to be scary!

Halloween BendiAttach stuff together with dimensionals and this is your final card!  I call that so fun it is scary.  Now YOU try it!

Now finish the tour and see what the other RemARKables have for you.  On to the blog of Connie Deibler.
