Welcome to the November 2014 installment on the RemARKable Stampers blog tour.

This month everyone is thinking about Giving Thanks.  Makes you really think about the gifts in your life that you may take for granted sometimes.  When I think about my blessings, I always think of the gift of being able to be CREATIVE.

I am so grateful that I found Stampin’ Up! and joined because it enriches my life every day.  The friends near and far, my wonderful team of TaDa! Stampers, the beautiful things we make with top quality tools, my FRIENDS at the home office.  Stampin’ Up! allows me to surround myself with creative people that I love and that make my life so much happier.  How many jobs can you say that about?  Makes me tear up…

OK, enough sap!  Let’s craft!!

pic 2I was playing around with my VersaMark pads since a couple have seen better days.

Do you have any like this?

YUCKY!

Well, my friends, this is what you do with them!

Take your reinkers and make you a custom imbossing pad.

It works great, I only had to do a small corner for the little leaves I was doing.

Here are the 2 stamp sets I used.  They are sized to work together perfectly!!! (click on the pictures to go to my Stampin’ Up! store)

LOVE COORDINATION BETWEEN PRODUCTS!  Maybe I have mentioned that before, huh?

pic 2Here are the stamps and the 4 little leaves I was going to use on my trees.

So yeah, I only needed a little corner of the pad.

pic 3Here is a side view of the leaves then embossed with clear embossing powder.

Can you see the shimmer of the leaves?  A bit of a raised texture, too.

Then a little sponging and layering and adding ribbons and brads.

Result?  A nice colorful card that looks way harder than it is with the new embossing trick.final card

And it is always cool to have fellow stampers have to break down and ask how you did it.  haha!

So don’t be afraid to try new things, use something in a new way.

That is what creativity is all about.

And for that, I am very thankful.
