The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop

This month in between all the hustle and bustle of the normal holiday season, all Stampin’ Up! demos get to pre-order items from the NEW Occasions catalog starting Jan 3rd.

And we get to earn early some Sale-a-Bration goodies, too!

So of course we have to put a little play time in our schedule to start using some of these goodies right away.

I also love new catalogs because I always join lots of swaps with other demos and I really enjoy making swap cards.  I think of a few ideas with the new stuff, make multiples of each idea, and then swap my cards with other demos through a host.  Great fun!

Seeing the ideas from the other demos always inspires me to create more projects… and every once in a while, I inspire myself to create another project.  lol

The swap card I made was using some new and sparkly washi tape, a new Sale-a-Bration thinlit word cut from new glimmer paper in Bermuda Bay, and some awesome new embellishments.

This card is my attempt at being hip and artsy.  Most of my cards are a bit more traditional I guess.  I took some inspiration from the catalog samples and cut up the words in another new stamp set.

And how cool is it that we can earn thinlits for S-a-B!!!  Love that!

Did you notice the little sequins on there?  These new sticky sequins are so easy to use!  I never knew I liked sequins so much, but these are now my new addiction in the making.

With several colors in the package of sticky sequins, I wanted to make something else just so I could stick some more sequins on it!   I told you it was a growing addiction right?

The other thing I was working on this past week was finishing up my team gifts for the team holiday party at a local restaurant.

I liked the card so much, I decided to decorate the boxes for the team gift in a similar way.  They are simply amazing ladies, after all!

Using the mini pizza boxes, which ARE being carried over from the holiday catalog, btw, I used a pink theme to get a similar feel on the boxes in just a different color theme.

Why pink?  The new glimmer paper is actually in a 3-color package that includes a Iridescent, light green, & turquoise.  That Iridescent one really looked like it had a pink tint to me.

Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, & yellow

The new stick sequins have 5 colors and I had used 4 of the colors on other cards.

Just had the berry burst (dark pink) ones left.

There is also some Ready Shreddie in a dark pink that is close to Berry Burst.

I was making little boxes for a present after all, need some festive shreads in the box, of course!

It appeared the stars were aligning for me to make a PINK project.

I used the non-glossy side of the boxes and sponged on some basic gray, melon mambo, and berry burst inks.

The Iridescent glimmer paper word was put on a mat of silver glimmer paper so it would show up well.

Here are the boxes and their gifts, custom engraved acrylic D size blocks with their name and the team name and year on it.  TaDa! Stampers, if you guys are reading this and you couldn’t come to the holiday gathering to pick up your gift, it is on it’s way in the mail or I plan to see you soon.

The mini pizza boxes were just a perfect container for the D blocks engraved as gifts!  Not only is the engraved block a personalized keepsake, it is a fully usable craft tool.  You can see through the engraving to use the blocks for stamping.

To find out how to get your custom engraved blocks for your team, club/customers, or just for you, click here or on the menu item above to see the other fun craft tools I can engrave for YOU!

Now on to the other stampers on this hop.  Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
