Hello and welcome to this month’s technique focused blog hop, where each month demos from around the world are having a ball praying with a new product from Stampin’ Up!

Our hop is a little different because we want you to get excited and TRY these ideas!  We had fun and want to share the fun with all of you.  😉

This month the focus is the new Brusho watercolor crystals.

When I was on my TaDa! Stamping at Sea Cruise a couple of weeks ago, we did some major playing with the Brusho crystals… and let me tell you, they are addicting!  So natually, we were trying to find new and unique things to do with them.

Enter the Dazzlin’ Diamonds (white) glimmer paper.

You can do the glimmer paper just like the watercolor paper.

Sprinkle the crystals on and spritz on some water from a Spritzer or paint on water with an Aquapainter brush.

But, WOW!  Does it sure look different!

In the picture at the left, I sprinkled some of the Gamboge (orange) crystals on and spritzed them a bit.  Then stood the card on it’s side for a little bit to let the color ‘run’ on the card.

I was dabbing ink off the glimmer to get off some of the water.  Be careful, because that will remove the color if it hasn’t seeped in between the glitter on the paper yet.

I loved the indistinct edges, though!  Looked very underwaterish.

And since our theme on the cruise was oceany stuff, this was just perfect!!!

This process will take a little bit of time, just PLAY and see what works best for you as far as getting the color on the glimmer.

It might take a few passes if you want it darker.  No right or wrong, just keep going until you like it.

Here is the final card with some fun little fishes added.  I had taken several ‘ocean-y’ sets on the cruise for us to use so the fish, seaweed, little shells and starfish are all from the Seaside Shore stamp set.  Stamped in Night of Navy and colored in with the Brusho and my aquapainter.

However, the fabulous WORDS are from the So Many Shells set.  You need this set… GREAT words in here!

A bonus technique to try here, see the blue fish face?

The ‘shine’ on it is the fine-tip glue used almost like a paint.  Adds great dimension and shine and who doesn’t love more shine, right?

I am the only US Demo participating in this month’s hop, so if you are in the US and want to try this, I would LOVE to have you purchase your products from me.

I have added the product links to make it easy for you to find the stuff I used and get on to the playing!

Remember it is still Sale-a-Bration time, so I recommend the Tutti-Frutti card bases and envelopes as your free item with your $50 purchase.

Great colors in this set for our ocean themed sparkle, and ready to take your focal shimmer piece.

Gives you more time to TRY this fun technique… enjoy and see you next time!
