Welcome to World Card Making Day and a Global Event brought to you by a few Stampin’ Up! Demos.

The card I am showing today has a couple of tips for using our thinlits and the washi tape to build images.

If you have been to my blog lately, I am totally in love with washi tape, so here is another use for it.

So I was looking at the Floral phrase stamp set and thought that flower bunch would be a great edge of a heart!

laying-out-the-heartSo I took my nesting heart thinlits and found the one it fit best.  I traced that outside of the heart to use as my boundary and then stamped in the outline.

I was doing this diagonally, and it was easy to start building my heart image.

A little stamping, a little washi, several more of the same… lol

hearts-in-processSo here is a whole sheet of these little hearts.

It is always nice to have multiples of cards handy for occasions coming up.

And of course the Congratulations could be Happy Birthday, etc.

Or something different on everyone!  Why not?

cutting-the-heartSo then you just have to line the heart up in the thinlit, which is super easy with the magnetic plate.

And here is the finished card, using the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, some of the Floral Boutique Washi Tape and a little surprise color of Washi from the Playful Palette set.
